Compensation Policy Making and Payroll Management, the 5th Module of HRM Series, tackled the new law of extended maternity and other leave benefits for women such as magna carta and solo parent leave. There was long discussion on overtime and how the different overtime rates are applied to various day types and holidays and what are additional compensation for work shifts that falls on the evening and early hours of the morning. Sharing of experiences and best practices made the learning more interactive and dynamic. The training ended with a run of a sample Payroll System that covers all requirements of Payroll including government contributions and mandatory reportorial requirements of the different government agencies like Social Security System (SSS), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
